The Architecture Symposium: Readymade
Retrofit, re-use and replicable strategies for housing. Curated by Jennie Officer and Nigel Bertram.
Jennie is a founding director at Officer Woods Architects, a senior lecturer in the School of Design at the University of Western Australia and a fellow of the Australian Institute of Architects.
Jennie grew up in the remote Murchison region of Western Australia and particularly enjoys responding to non-standard challenges and issues. She combines several roles in professional life: practitioner, teacher, researcher and advocate.
The built work of Officer Woods has been published and awarded at state and national level across diverse categories, and the practice is committed to flexible thinking about projects and their sites, cultures, contexts and characters, delighting in the overlaps of architecture, landscape and urban design.
Jennie makes regular contributions to architectural dialogue and knowledge by review, presentation and publication; has served as a jury member at both state and national levels for peer-reviewed awards programs; and is a current member of the Western Australian State Design Review Panel.
