The Architecture Symposium: Out of Office
Stories of experimentation and lessons from site. Curated by Clare Kennedy and John Ellway.
Yolandé Vorster is a heritage architect with experience in the conservation and adaptive reuse of culturally significant buildings. She has a particular interest in understanding how built fabric is impacted over time, and what can be done to increase the lifespan of both existing and new materials. She has deepened her knowledge by working closely with specialist tradespeople, and attending practical and theory-based building conservation workshops at Longford Academy in Tasmania. Yolandé is focused on making buildings more resilient, designing for longevity and reuse.
Yolandé contributes more broadly to the architecture profession through spatial installations, mentoring, and lectures and teaching at the University of Queensland. She is also part of the Australian Institute of Architects EmAGN QLD Committee and EDIC Committee, and is an ICOMOS member.
