Owen Architecture is a Brisbane-based practice founded by Paul Owen with experience in private house commissions, boutique public buildings and object design. Paul is interested in developing an architecture that responds appropriately to the Australian low-density suburban fabric. Paul Owen graduated from the Queensland University of Technology in 1994. He became an associate at BVN before founding Paul Owen Architect in 2000 and then co-founding Owen and Vokes in 2003, later to become Owen and Vokes and Peters. His work has received state and national architecture awards, most notably the Robin Dods awards for Queensland House of the year in 2005 and 2016, and Don Roderick Award for Heritage in and the John Dalton Award for Brisbane Building of the year. Owen Architecture’s work has been included in exhibitions at GOMA, The Queensland Museum, The Brisbane Powerhouse and the Evoke Regional Conference, Townsville. Paul is regularly asked to write and speak on architecture within Australia and abroad.
