David Welsh is an architect, writer and co-founder of Welsh + Major, a "modern-ish" architecture, interiors and urban design practice he established with Chris Major. The work of the practice has featured in prominent design publications around the world in both print and online. He has taught at the University of Sydney, UNSW, the University of Technology, Sydney and the University of Newcastle, participated on various architecture awards juries and contributed as a writer to a number of publications both in Australia and abroad.
Welsh + Major’s portfolio of work spans across public spaces and private homes, restaurants and bars, galleries, shops, workplaces, open spaces, and the reinvention of historic buildings. Their work seeks an artistic resolution of programme and detail with a focus on context and landscape, memory and material.
