The Architecture Symposium: What’s next for practice?
Perspectives from a new generation of architects.
Amelia Borg is a co-founding member and co-director of Sibling Architecture, a collaborative award-winning architectural practice working across residential, civic and commercial projects in urban and regional areas, with a focus on producing socially engaged outcomes.
Grounded in a research-driven studio environment, the work of Sibling often extends to self-initiated projects that explore the impact of the built environment on our societies. These projects have been supported through grants including the Alastair Swayn Grant and Creative Victoria.
Amelia is currently leading a research project around Sensory Spaces and the impact of the built environment on neurodivergent users, and is a guest editor on this topic for the latest issue of Architect Victoria. This project extends from research completed as part of the Wangaratta District Specialist School which was led by Amelia and was the winner of the 2024 Emagn Prize and the 2024 ArchitectureAu Award for Social Impact.
Sibling’s design research has been presented in local and international festivals and events including Sydney Design Week, Melbourne Triennial, Venice Biennial, Istanbul Biennial and Sao Paolo Biennial.
