As a founding principal of SHoP Architects, William Sharples has been at the centre of this collaborative practice for nearly twenty years, leading technological, commercial, and educational initiatives across the studio. He holds a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering from Pennsylvania State University and a Master of Architecture from Columbia University. Pursuing his interest in the design of spaces that define how we work and learn today, William has served as lead partner on a wide range of projects, including with Syracuse University, Drexel University, the Fashion Institute of Technology, Google, Uber and the Botswana Innovation Hub. William lectures widely at academic institutions and has held prestigious teaching positions at Cornell University, Yale University and the Parsons School of Design, where he brings SHoP’s message – about the unity of technological invention, artistic inspiration and public responsibility – to students across the country and around the world.
