Sue Dugdale, director of Susan Dugdale and Associates (SDA), is based in Mparntwe (Alice Springs) and works with a great team of architects committed to their region and better outcomes for the community, the town and the environment. Sue has produced a body of work whose influence is notable in the fabric of Alice Springs and beyond, has won numerous awards and was featured in the 2014 and 2020 Venice Biennales.
SDA’s architectural practice nexus of “small plus local plus longevity” delivers immense social value, including integrating stories into its work to build local identity, incorporating sacred sites and iconography, building First Nations employment and living standards, and developing the best environmental response for buildings in Australia’s vast interior.
