Stijn de Weerd (Wijchen, the Netherlands, 1981) graduated in 2011 from the Academie van Bouwkunst in Amsterdam and co-founded Space Encounters in 2014 with Joost Baks, Gijs Baks and Remi Versteeg. From the beginning, their practice has been comfortable working within a wide variety of scales and typologies, from urban plans and transformation projects to ofices, housing blocks, exhibitions, office furniture design and interior architecture.

In addition to his work at Space Encounters, Stijn also teaches at institutes such as the Academies of Architecture Amsterdam and Rotterdam, the Sandberg Institute Amsterdam and the Royal Academy of Art The Hague.
