Ronald Hicks has specialized in the design and delivery of major healthcare facilities for over thirty years. His portfolio ranges from conceptual, clinical planning and strategic studies, through to on-site delivery as project director on some of Australia’s most signi cant and complex hospitals, such as The Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, the Liverpool Hospital redevelopment and the Westmead Hospital redevelopment, all in New South Wales, and the $1.8-billion Sunshine Coast University Hospital in Queensland.
His extensive masterplanning experience in both the urban and regional context, his design skills and esteemed outcomes are highly regarded. He is also well versed in contemporary best practice clinical planning, and in recent times has focused on the design and delivery of cancer care facilities.
Ronald has been the recipient of a number of prestigious architectural awards, including category wins at the World Architecture Festival in 2015, 2014 and 2011 (in two categories), a broad range of healthcare design awards and four architectural design awards from the South African Institute of Architects.
