Ron Kelly grew up in Brisbane in the 1950s, 60s and 70s and always had a love of the traditional timber homes that were so usual in Brisbane back then. He and his wife moved to Far North Queensland in the late 1970s for work as high school teachers, where at various times they lived in two old timber homes, even relocating one, in true Queensland fashion, from one site to another. After they returned to southern Queensland, they lived happily in Pomona, also in a timber home, this time from the 1930s.
For about four years, Ron has been in Caloundra, a place of childhood holidays. Assisted by Phorm Architecture and Design and builders, he has renovated the house there that his parents had lived in since the early 1980s.
