Jennifer McMaster is an accomplished architect and a director of Trias, an architecture studio based in Sydney. Trias has developed a reputation for thoughtful and thorough design work, based around the three principles of ‘solid, simple and beautiful’ architecture. The studio’s work prioritises sophisticated sustainability, showcasing industry-leading architecture that is ambitious, elegant, and environmentally responsible.
Trias’ housing projects have been recognised via numerous state and national awards from the Australian Institute of Architects, Houses magazine and others, and their competition-winning proposals have garnered attention from the Queensland and NSW State governments. Trias is also involved in industry partnerships to design and deliver prefabricated housing.
Jennifer studied at the University of Sydney, graduating with Honours, and gained work experience in Sydney and Copenhagen. Her industry accolades include the 2015 NSW Design Medal, the 2019 Dulux Study Tour prize, the MADE by the Opera House scholarship and the Byera Hadley Travelling Scholarship. She is also a professor of practice at the University of Sydney, where she lectures, teaches and conducts research on housing and sustainability. In 2024, she was awarded the Australian Institute of Architecture NSW Chapter Emerging Architect Prize.
