Emily is a partner at Core Collective Architects: a collaborative, research-based practice located in Nipaluna/Hobart. Emily is driven by a belief that quality, affordable housing is key to our wellbeing and that everyone deserves a home.
As a registered architect, Emily has led the design and construction of apartments, community buildings and social housing throughout Tasmania. Core Collective Architects takes a co-design approach to social housing, with clients including the Hobart Women’s Shelter, the North West Tasmania Women’s Shelter, Homes Tasmania and Housing Choices Australia. They adopt trauma-informed design principles and have post-occupancy feedback led by UTAS and UTS.
In 2024, Emily attended the Business Council of Co-operatives and Mutuals European Study Tour of Co-operative Housing. Emily co-authored the report, What Australia Can Learn from European Affordable Co-operative Rental Housing Models, promoting this form of innovative affordable housing in Australia.
