Damian Barker, design director of Jackson Teece, leads multiple design teams in the practice's Sydney, Newcastle and Brisbane studios. He has extensive experience in urban design and architecture, with specialist skills in ecologically sustainable design (ESD). Underlying his work is a sophisticated ability to reconcile the functional relationships between complex architectural and public spaces. His work has been recognized with many prestigious awards, particularly for residential, ESD and urban design, and published in numerous journals. Most recently Thomas Holt’s latest project, Flame Trees, received the 2018 UDIA Award For Excellence in Aged Care.
