Briar Hickling and Alex Mok are founding partners of Linehouse, an interdisciplinary architectural design practice based in Shanghai, China established in 2014.
Briar (New Zealander) received a Bachelor of Interior Design at Massey University, Wellington. Alex (Chinese-Swedish) received a Diploma of Architecture from the Bartlett, London. Both were senior associates at Neri & Hu, one of China’s leading architectural and design practices, where they uncovered a kindred design sensibility and motivation. Before coming together at Linehouse, Alex worked on notable projects in China such as Le Meridien Zhengzhou Hotel and the Camper Showroom Shanghai. Briar worked on hospitality projects in Asia, Australia and the UK for acclaimed chefs such as Jean-Georges and Jason Atherton, and hotel projects in China and London.
In 2015, Linehouse was awarded Emerging Interior Practice of the Year by World Interior News and numerous other awards in the region.
