Ian has more than twenty- ve years experience as an architect, during which time he has worked on a broad array of projects in the United Kingdom, Europe, United States and, more recently, Australia. His diverse portfolio spans workplace, retail, residential, leisure and master-planning sectors, embracing all aspects of urban and interior design.

He joined Make in 2005 and has since led a number of key projects, ranging from the London Wall Place – a City of London scheme built around parks and gardens – to the redevelopment of London’s Harrods department store. In Sydney, Ian has led a number of projects including the Wynyard Place project, a new transit hall with of ce and retail tower, and the re-imagining of the historic sandstone buildings in Sydney’s CBD into a luxury hotel. Prior to Make, Ian worked for Foster and Partners, during which time he worked on the Reichstag project in Berlin.

In 2016, Ian relocated from London to Sydney.
